The goal of the Bachelor’s Program in French Translation and Interpreting is to
- to train students in technical translation, literary translation, and subtitling
- interpretation
- translation theory and criticism, sociology of translation, and history of translation
- linguistics, terminology, lexicography, and translation semiotics

Academic Staff
Our department has a strong academic staff consisting of 1 Professor, 6 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors, 2 Lecturers with PhDs, 2 Research Assistants with PhDs, 2 Lecturers, and 1 Research Assistant.
Language of Instruction
The language of instruction for the French Translation and Interpreting undergraduate program is 100% French. Our students also study English as a foreign language during the first two years and take translation courses during the last two years. Additionally, they study Italian as a second foreign language during the final three years.
YKS Score Type
Our department offers a French Preparatory Class. Students who take the YDT (Foreign Language Test) in French, as well as in English, German, Russian, or Arabic, may also apply to our department using the YKS Language Score Type.
Teacher Training
Students in our department can complete their teacher certification by taking the relevant courses during their studies.
