Bachelor's Degree in French Translation and Interpreting

Established in 1992 within the Faculty of Science and Letters, the Department of Western Languages and Literatures’ Division of French Translation and Interpreting aims to train versatile translators who are highly aware of professional development and capable of adapting to innovations in the industry in the fields of technical translation, interpreting, literary translation, and aims to train versatile translators who can adapt to innovations in the industry and possess a high level of professional awareness. 

 

Starting in the 2020–2021 academic year, our department will launch a one-academic-year French Preparatory Class program. Throughout their four-year undergraduate program, students take foundational professional courses focused on their specialization, along with required English and an elective language course in either Italian or German. In addition, starting at the end of the fourth semester, our students complete a two-semester internship at an institution, organization, or company related to their field, and prepare a capstone project in the eighth semester.

Simultaneous Interpretation Laboratory: Two interpretation booths, one TV, and simultaneous interpretation equipment
 
Technical Translation Lab: 20 computers equipped with computer-assisted translation tools
 
Language Laboratory: One overhead projector
