- “Translation of the LAROUSSE LEXIS Dictionary from French to Turkish” Project (2006–2018)
The translation of this dictionary, comprising 1,200 pages and 76,000 entries, was an in-department project carried out collaboratively by our department staff and 80 students from various academic years. Published by Bilge Kültür Sanat Publishing House, this dictionary marks the first project of its kind involving such a large number of students. At every stage, it served as an invaluable field experience for the entire team in terms of education, teaching, knowledge sharing, continuous problem-solving, gaining insight into the translation industry, and—most importantly—understanding the legal rights related to the field and learning about ethical and deontological values.
- The “Teaching French at YTÜ” Project (2017–2018), carried out between AUF/BECO and YTÜ
As part of this project, free French language courses were offered to our university students and faculty members at the Francophone Success Center.
- Bibliography of French Writers: “Flaubert Sans Frontières” Project (2014–2016)
This project focused on the international reception of Gustave Flaubert. With a budget of 18,000 euros, the project’s partners included the CÉRÉdI Center at the University of Rouen (France) and the CERCC-ENS Center at Jean Moulin-Lyon III University (France). - “YTÜ Francophone Success Center” Project (2013)
This is an international project carried out by the AUF, BECO, and the YTÜ Rectorate. As part of the project, the Francophone Success Center (Kışla Building B-1012) was established and opened on December 3, 2013, and has since begun its activities. The Francophone Success Center is an educational environment equipped with the necessary pedagogical resources and technical infrastructure, established to promote French language and cultural education and related activities at the university level.
- Erasmus Intensive Program LLP (September 8–18, 2012) – “Food and Cultural Identity: between the Market, the Humanities, and the Social Sciences,” 2012-ERA-IP-8, Bulgaria; Lead Institution: New Bulgarian University.
- “Establishment and Operation of the YTÜ EU Office” Project (2003–2010)
Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ) first began participating in the ERASMUS program in 2003 through an agreement signed with the National Agency. Our department established the program’s framework, set up the EU Office, and played a leading role in institutionalizing this process at YTÜ.
- “PERMIT” (Promoting Education and Reciprocal Understanding Through Multicultural Integrated Teaching) EU Project (2008–2009)
Coordinated by the General Secretariat of the European Union under the Prime Ministry and implemented by Yıldız Technical University, this was the first international EU project, with the acronym PERMIT and a budget of 432,230.00 euros. The project aimed to develop a civil society dialogue between the European Union and Turkey. It was carried out in partnership with CA’ Foscari University (Italy), the University of Primorska (Slovenia), and TWAS—The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (Italy).
- Bibliography of French Writers and the “Guy de Maupassant” Project (2004–2008)
Within the framework of this project, research was conducted on the reception of Guy de Maupassant on the international stage. Project partners included the University of Rouen (France) and the Association of Friends of Flaubert and Maupassant (France).
